Mexican Nakameguro

  • Hello Nakameguro.

In cherry blossom season 2010 I arrived at the doorstep of the riverside neighbourhood of Nakameguro, Tokyo. As a passionate foodie, I was delighted to find the most satisfying café’s, restaurants and bars worth telling your friends about. Not only is the food good, leisurely exploration has uncovered quirky and cool boutiques, flower shops and vintage stores to really get excited about.

The move from a casual coastal town in Australia to a quaint hood has been incredibly eye opening. I've learnt as a gaijin living in Tokyo, it’s not easy to find the best bars or cafés that you might be after. They’re usually tucked away in unexpected places and require a local to point you in the right direction.

So here it is: A blog to guide prospective visitors and/or those not so adventurous residents into the hidden narrow side streets of Nakameguro, Tokyo.
