NAKAMEGURO’S EXCLUSIVE STUFFED SQUIRREL

european furniture, traditional japanese fans, books, lamps

One thing you will learn about Nakameguro is that the place is absolutely spoiled for a rich selection of boutique shops. This one’s on the main street (Yamate Dori) about a 5 minute stroll downriver from Nakameguro station. It’s called Onko Chishin, a vintage supply boutique that holds my personal record for the longest time spent browsing. It stocks an odd ball combination of propeller blades, iron bed frames, top hats, collectible buttons and a glassy-eyed stuffed squirrel. Onko Chishin has pretty much everything but vintage Kimonos. Don’t miss the display in the corner which stocks one-off pieces of jewelery, brooches and pins discounted at 20% off.

Brooches, earings, necklaces, bracelets

I bought this vintage bag for just 2,000 yen!

Onko Chishin is next to Murukawa Jeans Shop on Yamate Dori. Find it here on Google’s Nakameguro Map.

I remember going to Yamati Dori and purchasing a lovely pearl necklace.
